The BRUMBIES coming in to HOOFS2010 are from all over Australia. The Sanctuary is located in Berrigan New South Wales. The primary focus we have is about saving and promoting Australian BRUMBIES from all areas because we see the value in the variety of genetic traits from years gone by.
We also assist failed re-homing situations where BRUMBIES have been saved by others and are in need of help. NOTE:- All our Brumbies are rehomed on a life lease!! |

Apply To Offer A Forever Home To One Of Our Brumbies
HOOFS often have BRUMBIES available for re-homing, however the process we use to find suitable homes is done a little different than most in that we have some basic requirements that must be fulfilled when applying to provide a forever home for one of our BRUMBIES.
Firstly we ask, that you make arrangements to come and visit our BRUMBY Sanctuary in Berrigan New South Wales, come and spend some time with us and meet our horses because getting to know us a little better also helps us to get to know you. It is during this time that we can see how you interact with our horses, it is here that you may feel a connection with one of our amazing Brumbies and want to offer a forever home. You also have time with us to ask any questions or address any concerns and or issues. Visitng us gives you the opportunity to meet and work a few of our Brumbies we want to help ensure the process is assuring and comfortable for both you and the Brumby. This is our introduction stage.
If you feel that you would like to offer a forever home to one of our BRUMBIES after your visit to the sanctuary then we will ask you to complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) telling us a little bit about you and your family, your horse capabilities and or experience, your dreams, your intentions for our BRUMBIES. We also require that you supply two written references from members of the professional Equine industry such as Veterinary, Trainer, Farrier, Barefoot Trimmer or other Equine Professional and become a HOOFS2010 Financial member annually.
Our BRUMBIES are all individual, therefore we like to ensure we find the right union between the potential re-homer and the horse. We have a dedicated committee who will read your letter of expression and contact your referees and decide if the BRUMBY of your choice or one of our choice is a good match.
All our BRUMBIES are trained to a suitable standard of management and have been branded with the Southern Cross, they are also registered with the Southern Cross BRUMBY Registry and have their DNA recorded which enables them to be eligible for high points awards.
NOTE:- All Brumbies rehomed still have much to learn, we recommend a small yard at first to get to know each other, They have all lived wild and retain some of their characteristics, Whilst they are here they accustom to us and the going on day to day. You will need to create join up and understanding of each other.
HOOFS2010 also offers a "Boomerang" for all our BRUMBIES if there should ever be a time of inevitable change in life for the re-homer.
Our commitment for the welfare and care of our BRUMBIES is ongoing, therefore we provide you with support in the way of phone, email or Facebook contact. If a need ever arises that concerns you then you can reach out and contact us.
It is our dream to ensure the Aussie icons of Australia have a wonderful future in domestic life and the re-homers are proud to showcase their BRUMBY to the general public. The re-homer is also required as part of their agreement to cover the cost of any extra attention your BRUMBY may require that doesn't come under our standard care, such as extra immunizations, ongoing veterinary attention, other healthcare care as well as ensuring all their livelihood needs are adequately met.
If you wish to gain further details please make contact with us for more information.
